Yi Jing: il Libro dei Mutamenti

L’Yi Jing (I-Ching), il “Libro dei Mutamenti”, viene annoverato tra i testi classici dell’antica Cina. Il testo è composto da 64 esagrammi, immagini costituite dall’alternanza di sei linee intere e spezzate, che nella loro struttura racchiudono gli otto trigrammi del Ba Gua. Il metodo oracolare di consultazione, ancor oggi ampiamente utilizzato per la sua efficacia evocativa, prevede la realizzazione di un esagramma in base al lancio casuale di tre monete ed alla lettura del conseguente commentario, che non solo illumina i possibili esiti della domanda posta ma indica anche i comportamenti più adatti per il perseguimento dell’obiettivo. The Yi Jing (I-Ching), or “Book of Changes”, is considered one of the classic texts of ancient China. The text is composed of 64 hexagrams formed by the alternation of six whole and broken lines, whose structure contains the eight trigrams of the Ba Gua. The oracular method of consultation, still widely used today for its evocative effectiveness, involves the creation of a hexagram based on the random toss of three coins and the reading of the resulting commentary, which not only sheds light on the possible outcomes of the question asked but also indicates the most suitable behaviours for pursuing one’s objective. Cesare Cossa, a master of Chinese martial arts with over thirty years of study of the Yi Jing, will explain the book’s historical genesis, its diffusion in the West and the methods of consultation.
