FEFF Teens

Due artisti, quattro mani, un tavolo luminoso, un proiettore, musica e sabbia. Questi sono i semplici ingredienti che creano una nuova forma di spettacolo estremamente coinvolgente e imprevedibile, dove lo spettatore è incoraggiato a perdersi in un proprio immaginario, per essere poi ricondotto all’interno della narrazione.
La SandArt è un linguaggio visivo puramente analogico, che si nutre di una tecnica raffinata e di invenzione. E di ritmo. Ritmo con il quale luce (il tavolo luminoso) e ombra (la sabbia) si legano, si amano e si dominano vicendevolmente per creare disegni inaspettati e profondamente poetici.
Con questa tecnica, gli artisti Massimo Racozzi (illustratore e visual designer) e Fabio Babich (fumettista e pittore) mettono in scena in un’opera originale creata per il FEFF27, la loro interpretazione delle yōkai femminili e come esse possano mettere in discussione le convenzioni sociali.

Music, sand, two artists, four hands, a light table and a projector. These are the simple ingredients that combine to create a new kind of engaging and unpredictable show, where spectators are encouraged to lose themselves in their own imaginations, only to then be drawn back into the narrative.
SandArt is a purely analogical visual language based around invention, refined technique and rhythm. Rhythm that makes light (the light table) and shadow (the sand) bond, fall in love and dominate each other to create unexpected and deeply poetic images.
Using this technique, artists Massimo Racozzi (illustrator and visual designer) and Fabio Babich (cartoonist and painter) perform an original piece created for FEFF27: their interpretation of female yōkai and how these can call social conventions into question.

Laboratorio artistico a cura dell’ Accademia di Fumetto di Trieste, durante il quale i docenti Mariestelle Gostissa e Elia Antonio Russo illustreranno ai partecipanti i fondamenti della Nona Arte, dalla parte teorica e di scrittura a quella grafica, con dimostrazione pratica e realizzazione dal vivo di una tavola a fumetti in stile Manga.

An artistic workshop organised by the Comics Academy of Trieste, during which the teachers Mariestelle Gostissa and Elia Antonio Russo, will illustrate to the participants the fundamentals of comic art, from the theory and writing part to the creation of the artwork, with practical demonstrations and the live creation of a Manga-style comic page.

Il Far East Film Festival e la Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia, nell’ambito del progetto GO! 2025 & Friends, presentano “Mondo Mizuki, Mondo Yōkai“, una mostra curata da Canicola, Vincenzo Filosa e Mizuki Productions, Tokyo.
Si tratta della prima antologica in Italia dedicata a Shigeru Mizuki, uno dei più grandi maestri del manga giapponese, autore visionario che ha saputo raccontare come nessun altro il mondo degli yōkai – spiriti, creature misteriose e mostri del folklore giapponese.
Attraverso tavole originali, materiali d’archivio e contenuti speciali, il pubblico sarà accompagnato in un viaggio straordinario dentro l’immaginario di Mizuki, fatto di mistero, ironia e profonda umanità.
A guidare le due visite per ragazzi (10>13 e 14>17) sarà Vincenzo Filosa, fumettista, traduttore e curatore editoriale, tra i massimi esperti italiani di manga d’autore. Con il suo lavoro per Canicola Edizioni, ha contribuito a far conoscere in Italia grandi autori giapponesi underground e alternativi, tra cui lo stesso Mizuki.

As part of the GO! 2025 & Friends project, The Far East Film Festival and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia present “Mondo Mizuki, Mondo Yōkai“, an exhibition curated by Canicola, Vincenzo Filosa and Mizuki Productions, Tokyo.
This is the first exhibition in Italy dedicated to Shigeru Mizuki, one of the greatest masters of Japanese manga: a visionary author capable of bringing to life the world of the yōkai – the spirits, mysterious creatures and monsters of Japanese folklore – like no other.
Through original artwork, archive materials and special contents, the public will be accompanied on an extraordinary journey into Mizuki’s imagination full of mystery, humour and profound humanity.
The two visits for children (10>13 and 14>17) will be led by cartoonist, translator and editorial curator Vincenzo Filosa, one of the top Italian experts on auteur manga. With his work for Canicola Edizioni, he has contributed to raising awareness of some of the finest underground and alternative Japanese comic creators, including Mizuki himself.
