MASTERCLASS: THE HOUSE OF SUNTORY

Suntory è una delle più vecchie aziende di distribuzione di bevande alcoliche in Giappone. Venne fondata nel 1899 ad Osaka da Shinjirō Torii, una figura pionieristica in questo settore che ha aperto il libero mercato con l’obiettivo di creare liquori in stile occidentale per soddisfare i palati giapponesi. House of Suntory, con la prima distilleria di Whisky giapponese, la Yamazaki, porta a Udine più di cent’anni di storia e raffinatezza. In questa masterclass ci si concentrerà su l’arte del blending parlando di Wa – natura, di Monozukuri – artigianalità e di Omotenashi – l’arte dell’ospitalità. L’obiettivo? Ottenere whisky che siano impercettibili, raffinati e tuttavia complessi. Seguirà una degustazione di Yamazaki, Chita, Hakushu, Hibiki.

It was founded in 1899 in Osaka by Shinjirō Torii, a pioneering figure in the industry who opened up the free market with the aim of creating Western-style liqueurs to satisfy Japanese palates.  In this masterclass, House of Suntory, together with the first Japanese whiskey distillery, Yamazaki,will bring more than a hundred years of history and refinement to Udine, focusing on the art of blending by discussing Wa – nature, Monozukuri – craftsmanship and Omotenashi – the art of hospitality. The aim? To obtain whiskeys that are subtle and refined and yet complex. The masterclass will be followed by a tasting of Yamazaki, Chita, Hakushu and Hibiki.
